RocketReach Alternative

SalesRipe vs RocketReach:
a Quick Overview

RocketReach is by no means the only B2B lead generation platform in the market; there are a plethora of other tools that B2B marketers and business owners can tap on, including SalesRipe. In this comparison guide, we walk you through the pros and cons of SalesRipe vs RocketReach, and discuss how they stack up against each other.

SalesRipe And RocketReach:
Company Background

Firstly, RocketReach helps companies to connect directly with the right decision makers. RocketReach offers several products, including:
  • Search (similar to SalesRipe)
  • RocketReach APIs
  • Chrome Extension
  • Bulk Lookups
  • Outreach

Interestingly, there’s not a lot of information about RocketReach available online. We do know that RocketReach was founded in 2015 by Amit Shanbhag and Andrew Tso, but that’s about it. There’s no “About Us” page on RocketReach’s website, but CrunchBase estimates that the company employs approximately 1-10 people — this leads us to think it’s still in its startup phase.

SalesRipe, on the other hand, is an easy-to-use lead generation platform that provides targeted business and consumer sales leads. SalesRipe was founded in 2015, and it’s used by the world’s most prestigious and reputable companies, including Amazon, Google, Adobe, Oracle, and Dell.

SalesRipe Pricing vs RocketReach Pricing

If you’re looking to get started with a basic plan, and you don’t need to generate thousands of leads every month, then you’ll find that both SalesRipe and RocketReach are priced fairly reasonably, and won’t burn a hole in your wallet. If you want to scale up the number of leads you’re generating, however, then utilizing SalesRipe will definitely be more cost-effective. First up, SalesRipe offers three different plans, including a Basic plan that costs $49/month, a Plus plan that costs $79/month, and an Ultimate plan that will set you back by $129/month. If you’re a larger company looking for a fully customized solution, there’s also an Enterprise plan that’s available upon request. SalesRipe’s Basic plan comes with 200 credits that you can use to download 200 contacts to Excel. With the Plus plan and Ultimate plan, you get 1,000 credits and 2,500 credits per month. Your unused credits automatically roll over to the next month, and you can search for and view an unlimited number of leads. How about RocketReach’s pricing? The company’s Bronze plan costs $49 per month (billed monthly) or $39 per month (billed annually), and gives you 170 contact lookups per month, so pricing-wise, it’s not too far off from what SalesRipe offers. But while RocketReach is affordable to use at its lowest tier, companies who upgrade to the higher tiered plans will find that they’re paying through the nose. More specifically, RocketReach’s Silver plan costs $99 per month (or $79 billed annually), and gives you only 370 contact lookups. Then there’s the Gold plan, which costs $299 (or $249) per month, and gives you 1,150 contact lookups. If we compare SalesRipe’s Ultimate plan to RocketReach’s Gold plan, SalesRipe will set you back by $129/month, with your contacts costing $0.05 apiece. RocketReach, on the other hand, costs you $249 to $299 per month, with each lead costing $0.21 to $0.26. All in all, this means that you’re paying 320% to 420% more per lead if you use RocketReach.

Contracts And Lock-in Periods

If you’re running a huge company, and you know that you definitely need to get your hands on a few thousand B2B leads every month, then you might not mind signing a one year contract with your lead generation platform. But if you’re running a smaller business and/or you’re still experimenting and figuring things out, then you might not want to commit to using a platform for an entire year.

On top of that, also consider that entrepreneurs running smaller or new businesses need to be careful about their cash flow. You might think that you can pay off a $12,000 invoice and have just enough to get by, but what happens if one of your biggest customers delays their payment to you in the same month? All of a sudden, you might not have enough to finance your sales team’s payroll, and if that happens, business will grind to a halt.

If you prioritize flexibility and don’t like to be locked down by contracts, you’ll be glad to hear that SalesRipe designs all its plans to be contract-less, meaning that clients can cancel at any time. Furthermore, you don’t get a penalty for choosing to pay on a monthly basis. As a strict rule of thumb, we bill all our clients per month instead of per year, so as to provide them with more flexibility.

How about RocketReach? The company offers both monthly and yearly billing, which is a step up from data platforms that exclusively offer yearly contracts. That said, because RocketReach gives its customers a discount when they sign up for yearly billing, this might sway you into making a decision that will impact the long-term flexibility and agility of your company.

Number Of B2B Contacts

When it comes to B2B contacts, RocketReach has got the upper hand — the company’s database consists of 400 million professionals across 20 million companies. On the other hand, SalesRipe’s database features over 200 million consumer and 20 million business leads from across the world. SalesRipe also lets you filter your business leads using 30+ different criteria, including:

  • Geographic: State, County, City, Zip Code, Country
  • Industry: SIC Code, Industry Type
  • Size: Sales Volume, Number of Employees
  • Title: Contact Title, Contact Level, Contact Job Function
  • Other Filters: Technologies Used at Business, Landline vs Mobile Phone Numbers, One Contact per Company vs Multiple, Presence of URL and Exclusions

Here, it’s worth noting that SalesRipe guarantees that its data is 90% accurate on average, while RocketReach states that its advanced search “produces results that provide an 85% accuracy rate”. If you look at RocketReach’s G2 Crowd page, you’ll see that several users bring up its accuracy (or lack of accuracy), including one user who points out that not all emails provided by RocketReach are authentic.

SalesRipe Vs RocketReach:
Which Is A Better Fit For Your Company?

If you’re a firm believer in the “more is more” adage, and your key criteria in choosing a lead generation tool is the number of contacts that it offers you, then your choice is simple — go for RocketReach.

That said, if you’re looking for a tool that provides you with the most value and bang for the buck, then we’d say that SalesRipe is a better choice instead. While SalesRipe’s database is smaller than that of RocketReach, 20 million leads still makes for a pretty sizeable database, and there’s no chance that you’ll run out of leads or prospects to contact when using SalesRipe.

On top of that, also keep in mind that SalesRipe offers a 90% data accuracy guarantee, which is slightly higher than that of RocketReach (85%). At the end of the day, you don’t want to waste your time chasing prospects who have already left a certain company, so data accuracy is definitely an important point to look out for.
